Batch-Cooking-Feb-19-2012-short-ribs-and-chicken-salad

Yes, it was a few hours of pandemonium :P

But, now I have food ready to go for almost the entire week.

On the menu this week: honey and vinegar-braised short ribs with spinach and celery root purée and apricot curry chicken salad.

What's-In-Your-Cart-Feb 19 12

Do you ever peek into other people’s shopping carts, or gawk at their purchases at the check-out? Do you then try to figure out what kind of diet, if any, they’re on? Followed perhaps by a quick glance at the shopper to evaluate the success of that diet?

*These groceries are for 1 week, 2 people, and exclude previously purchased meat that may be used from the freezer. Not pictured above: beef short ribs bought at the Granville Island Public Market.

It’s considered by many, myself included, as the 2nd best Indian food in town, after Vij’s.

What sets Maurya apart? Keep reading…
