Review: Nom Nom Paleo: Food For Humans

I was super excited to hear that Michelle from the fabulous blog Nom Nom Paleo is creating a cookbook, and even mores stoked to have it in my hands! This book is a massive, hefty hardcover, with over 100 “nomtastic” recipes.

What I think most people will appreciate most is how approachable this cookbook is. Not only are the recipes well-written and easy to follow, but each one has multiple photos to guide you through the process. And the fun comic book theme throughout, along with the family photos and humour helps show how fun cooking and paleo can be. I personally love the emphasis on flavour (umami!), and the large assortment of creative recipes.

Food For Humans starts with kitchen basics and staples, and then launches into everything else: snacks, salads, soups, eggs, plants, seafood, poultry, meats, and treats. No matter what your cooking style or food preferences, there’s something tasty in there for everyone.

Nom Nom Paleo Kai Jiao

So far, I’ve made the Kai Jiao Thai Omelet (above), a delicious savory omelet variation to have on hand. I’ve also tried the yummy Chinese Egg Foo Young. And I’ve used the scraps from Brussels Sprouts to make Brussels Sprouts Chips – what a great idea! There are many other recipes that I’m looking forward to trying – so many to choose from!

I highly recommend this cookbook to anyone looking for fantastic paleo compliant recipes :)
