This Week in Food – Jan 22/12

January 22, 2012

“But if you don’t eat bread, what the heck do you eat??”

This post should answer that question and then some. Check out the images below of everything that I ate this past week to see the extent of my suffering on this paleo/primal “diet”.

Frittata, braised beef cheeks, prime rib, curry – what could be tastier, or easier?

Your week sounds like it went very well! I see you had a dish calling for “Beef Cheeks”–I have seen this cut at the store and have wondered what it was. Do tell.

Hi Julie. Beef cheeks are just how they sound – a cow’s facial cheek muscles. It can be a tough cut of meat, but braising them should make them very tender. This particular braising recipe had vanilla in it – delicious. I’ll have to remember to post it sometime.
