What’s In Your Cart (June 4/12)

June 4, 2012

Do you ever peek into other people’s shopping carts, or gawk at their purchases at the check-out? Do you then try to figure out what kind of diet, if any, they’re on? Followed perhaps by a quick glance at the shopper to evaluate the success of that diet?

Somehow I doubt I’m the only one ;) In which case, you might find my weekly shopping loot interesting.

The cart above is the fun Arizona edition. Got my breakfast goodies (pastured eggs, sold at Whole Foods?! C’mon Canada, get with the program) plus butter and sardines (to offset the Omega 6s from eating out), coconut water (to replace electrolytes lost in all the heat), blueberries for antioxidants (edible sunscreen?), coconut aminos (because I’m not sure if they’re available in Canada and I’ve been wanting to try them – although I’m still not decided on whether or not they’re healthy), and stocking up on Larabars for something like $1.25 each (more flavours and a little over half the price compared to Canada).

The cart below is standard fare for simple steaks for dinner and salad with chicken, avocados and pineapple for lunch. Plus more sardines and eggs for brekkie.

*These groceries are for 1 week, 2 people and don’t include steak pulled from the freezer.
