Do you ever peek into other people’s shopping carts, or gawk at their purchases at the check-out? Do you then try to figure out what kind of diet, if any, they’re on? Followed perhaps by a quick glance at the shopper to evaluate the success of that diet?
Somehow I doubt I’m the only one… In which case, you might find my weekly shopping loot interesting.
Even more nosy? ;) Here are the details:
- celery root
- organic spinach
- organic onions
- white vinegar
- organic beef short ribs
- organic carrots
- organic dark chocolate “haystacks”
- organic garlic
- white truffle butter
- organic thyme
- organic celery
- organic walnuts
- sliced almonds
- organic pecan halves
- organic dried cranberries
- organic pumpkin seeds
- organic coconut flakes
- organic chard
- white mushrooms
- turkey sausages
- organic yams
These groceries were bought at Whole Foods and Organic World and will feed two people for dinner and one for breakfast and lunch, for most of the week. Elimination diet’s over and done with. All the nuts/dried fruit/coconut are for granola that I’m planning to make. The truffle butter is a complete splurge – I’ve only ever bought it once before a long time ago, and have been wanting to buy it again ever since.
What’s in your cart this week? Anything you’re especially excited about?

I really do check out other people’s stuff. Everything looks great! What do you do with the truffle butter?
For starters, I might experiment with putting it in my celery root puree for some extra flavor. Or I might just sit around and sniff the jar. Either or :P
